Facilitate
Some things are just hard, forming teams, planning for the future, closing doors on the past. I love working with people and organizations to make things easier–work, life, change. Back in the early 1990′s, when I first experienced Challenge training, I learned this “Full Value Contract” which makes an excellent guide for just about everything!
The first rule in my book is to have fun! I am known for bringing toys to meetings to give folks something to occupy their dreamy, creative right brains. This is what makes my strategic planning sessions unique–they’re FUN!
Some people think safety should be first, and certainly that’s right up there. We also want to make sure that people work together as a group.
I divide groups to make sure everyone gets to put their 2 cents worth into the mix. Giving everyone a voice is the best way to ensure that they achieve personal & group goals. What a great way to embrace and create change.
Finally, the most challenging part of the “Full Value Contract” for me anyway, is to give and receive honest feedback. It’s simply central to real communication. We just have to learn to see our mistakes as learning opportunities and hope others can do the same.
