Meet Cyndy
One of my dearest friends Cyndy Erickson is starting her own consulting practice–CE Consulting. She’s collaborating with us on some projects, and co-presenting tomorrow at the Iowa Non-Profit Summit. The topic is “Strengthening Relationships to Create a High Performing Team.”
Cyndy company specializes in outcome-based planning and evaluation, effective communication and collaboration to meet the unique needs of organizations. A partnership with Cyndy expands Next Step’s expertise in creating effective teams through evaluation and training based on the unique needs of each organization.
Before retiring in January from the Iowa Department of Education, Cyndy led a statewide multi-year effort to improve school safety and student engagement. During her long career in education she won the respect of educators, administrators and communities. She led several initiatives to improve outcomes for underserved youth and their families.
At Des Moines Public Schools for more than 20 years, she designed and coordinated services to increase graduation rates. Other career highlights include writing and managing numerous grants and developing a database used statewide. She co-authored the book Practical Evaluation for Collaborative Services.
Cyndy’s attention to detail, organization and communication skills have made her a highly effective grant writer and evaluator. But her people skills really make her shine, and her dedication to positive outcomes is outstanding.
Cyndy is an avid reader and loves to travel with her husband Alan and their dogs. She is also a State Fair blue ribbon winner. Watch for her cookies again next year! We’re excited to have her taking the Next Step with us.
