Make HerStory
Here’s the story that KCCI ran on the Chrysalis HerStory event May 27. Shawn Johnson, Olympic gymnast from West Des Moines, was the featured speaker.
Each year the Chrysalis Foundation sponsors a spring event for the After-School groups they support throughout central Iowa. The purpose is to:
- Celebrate and share successes of the girls, the groups and the women who support them
- Recognize girls who are making successful transitions to middle school, junior high and high school
- Share and learn about each other, women’s history, program ideas and successes and the big picture of Chrysalis After-School
This year girls and group facilitators are planning the event. We’re working on the speaker and location, and the date is tied to those two decisions. To keep everyone in the loop, this post will be updated as we make decisions. We hope you’ll leave comments and ideas to make the event GREAT! Here is information for you to download–

I think HerStory sounds like a lot of fun. I also like the cocolate idea too.
